This car will be hand-built and will be the most technologically advanced in the company’s history.
General Motors’ luxury Brand, Cadillac, will launch in 2023 a premium hand-made EV, called Celestiq, having an initial MSRP of at least $300,000 USD.
Celestiq will be the most technologically advanced vehicle in Cadillac’s history, and its goal is to set the brand once again as an industry “World-class paradigm”.
Each unit will be hand-built on request, making each unit unique with “unprecedented levels of customization tuned to reflect the owner’s tastes,” the company noted.
The Celestiq will allow Cadillac to compete with the top luxury European brands such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The American company plans to produce two units each workday starting on December 2023
Cadillac’s VP, Rory Harvey stated in a press release: “Celest is Cadillac at its finest” and added that it’s an automotive work of art, totally tailor-made, built around the most advanced and innovative tech.
Before that, Cadillac hand-built vehicles such as the V16 Aerodynamic Coupe 1936 and the Eldorado Brougham 1957.
Celestiq’s specs
This car has 115 3D printed parts and will be equipped with an electric propulsion system with a 111-kWh battery and 2 engines to provide traction to all 4 wheels.
This system Will generate about 600 hp, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a 300 miles autonomy.
Celestiq includes an air suspension, 3.5° turn on its back wheels in the opposite direction of the front axis to improve its low-speed maneuverability and magnetic control on its suspension.
Besides that, it’ll be equipped with Ultra Cruise; Cadillac’s advanced system to improve driving, allowing autonomous driving to a certain extent.
