The subsidiary of MOBILITY ADO, MIVSA, has made progress in integrating 50 new 100% electric units into its fleet, which will provide service on Line 3 of the Metrobús in Mexico City.
It is expected that by the end of February 2023, these units will be in operation and replace diesel buses on this line, which currently has 82 articulated buses.
The presence of Mexico City’s head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, the Secretary of Mobility of Mexico City, Andrés Lajous, Juan Carlos Abascal, Director of Mobility Solutions LATAM at MOBILITY ADO, and Alfonso Cavazos, General Manager of Integral Mobility at Vanguardia in MOBILITY ADO, has been key during the visit to the storage yard, where progress has been observed in the electric infrastructure works that will power these new units.
The integration of the new electric units into MIVSA’s fleet will result in a reduction of up to 130 tons of CO2 emissions per year with zero direct emissions, as well as a new travel experience for users, with silent and vibration-free journeys.
The electric units have lithium iron phosphate batteries and a range of over 300 km with regenerative braking, while the electric infrastructure installed in the Jupiter Yard features two transformers, with capacities of 2.5 megavolt-amperes and 3 megavolt-amperes, respectively.
