Yucatan’s authorities visited Mexico City’s Sistema de Metrobús site to reinforce exchanges in electromobility.
This visit took place because the state will begin the first BRT electric transport system in the region.
Daniela Torres Flores, the Technical Secretary of the Institute of Mobility and Urban Development (IMDUT in Spanish), stated that with their experience on public transportation infrastructure development, Metrobús will set the State’s standard and enable future problem-solving during development.
Other topics were discussed, such as the technological development of lanes, stations and terminals, as well as the learning curve of authorities and denizens, to use this bus system.
Electric transportation in CDMX
Yucatán’s authorities took a tour in the Metrobús Intelligent Transport Information Center (CITI in Spanish). On that tour they made a reconnaissance of the Control Center which directs, manages, AND monitors the system’s operations.
IMDUT officials talked about electromobility management in Mexico City. As a response, CDMX officials and authorities remarked the importance of the 10 electric units that will be part of Line 3.
As a result, they will set the stage for a total route electrification and impact the health of the userbase and the environment for the better, by reducing greenhouse gas effects.
