The Three D’s of Electromobility: Decarbonization, Digitization, and Decentralization. These attributes are an integral part of CityBest, an app that recently launched in Colombia.

Starting in November 2021, Bogota’s roadways will be the first ones to be improved via the CityBest electromobility app. Harnessing its transportation infrastructure, Colombia, the Zero Emission leader in LATAM, aims to fulfill three objectives: Decarbonization, Decentralization, and Digitization.

Bogota is pushing sustainable mobility forward: at the beginning of 2022, it will add almost 2,000 electric buses to its public transport system, Transmilenio. CityBest will add 6,000 units for personalized commutes by using gas-fueled vehicles, EVs, and hybrid vehicles, allowing for greater Decarbonization.

According to Gonzalo Casanga, CityBest’s CEO, “In Latin America, Colombia has been one of the leaders when it comes to the use of clean energies on public and private transport. Its commitment to reduce its carbon footprint is one of most important in the region.”

Public transport Digitization consists of uniting CityBest with other real-time apps, such as Waze, Google Maps, Spotify, WhatsApp and Mercado Pago. This multimodal transport app uses several payment methods as well as a planner for personalized commutes.

The user can choose several fees according to their preferred vehicle and energy source, whether it’s powered by gas, hybrid, or a Zero Emission EV.

Decentralization with CityBest means improving Bogota’s ecofriendly community: in 2019 Colombia launched its National Electromobility Strategy wherein Colombian authorities committed to add 600,000 EVs. CityBest is part of that effort, allowing Colombia to reinforce its electromobility efforts.
