Mexican leading mobility company, MOBILITY ADO implemented the initiative Together We Move the World, through which it pursues to redirect its corporate strategy towards sustainability, with a view to the United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Objectives (SDG).
Through Together We Move the World, MOBILITY ADO is sought to build up its position in the international market. For this purpose, it reiterates its commitment to focus on sustainable strategies such as electromobility, hybrid and hydrogen-based models. Likewise, it will reinforce two factors within its operation: shared mobility as a cornerstone of sustainable mobility and reduction of our carbon footprint.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic effects, MOBILITY ADO launched various electromobility projects in Mexico and Europe: Ten new electric Metrobus units in Mexico City, which will reduce more than 10,300 CO2 tons during its first decade of operation.
According to Juan Carlos Abascal, LATAM Mobility Solutions Corporate Director, “the post-COVID world demands a broader vision of the future, which is why we are building new paths to continue offering solutions to improve the quality of life through mobility. Now, we have incorporated an eco-friendly approach, adding visionary actors and at the same time, increasing environmental awareness.”
Likewise, with the introduction of a 68 zero emission bus fleet in the city of Zaragoza, Spain; the emission of more than 621,000 CO2 tons will be wiped out entirely by the time the entire diesel-fueled fleet gets replaced by electric vehicles.
Finally, the AutoMost project marks the beginning of a roadmap on technology applied to global and smart cities mobility with the first tests on fully electric and autonomous city buses.
In the words of Valentín Alonso, Avanza’s CEO (MOBILITY ADO’s Spanish branch): “Before a crisis, large companies and governments must invest their resources in further R&D and proposals that ensure to overcome them but also allow us to be strengthened.”
In addition to sustainability and environment care, the initiative has also leaned towards elevating the society and the importance of corporate governance. These will be transversely spanned through the organization in its different solutions for urban, commuting and tourism mobility as well as specialized transport in Mexico, Europe, and Central America.
