The Secretary of Mobility reported that Mexico City received first place in the “Best Product for Transport Users” category in the “Calypso Awards 2022”, organized by the international association Calypso Networks Association (CNA), for the implementation of the Integrated Mobility Card (MI).

On Sunday, December 4, the Secretary of Mobility (Semovi) announced in a statement that Mexico City received first place in the “Best Product for Transport Users” category, organized by the international association Calypso Networks Association (CNA), in Paris, France.

This, according to Semovi, is thanks to the technological innovation promoted by the government of Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo through the Integrated Mobility Card, which standardizes the method of collection for all public transport systems under the administration. According to the agency, the city was awarded for innovation in favor of population mobility with the project “Transformation of Infrastructure and Payment Means in Public Transport in Mexico City to Reduce Urban Inequalities.”

This was explained by the Secretary through the implementation of a single card for all modes of transport, the eradication of fraud in the recharge system, the incorporation of the MI Card in concession transport, and the creation of a recharge network in shops and mobile phones.

It should be noted that the “Calypso Awards” are awarded by the Calypso Networks Association, an international association that brings together members of the transport, mobility, and services community that use smart payment systems. Among its members are transport agencies from Venice, Turin, and Milan (Italy), Paris and Strasbourg (France), Brussels (Belgium), Lisbon (Portugal), among other cities.
